Needless to say, Cochin offers you some fascinating snippets of history and culture.     COCHIN SIGHTSEEING

    Meander through the old districts of Mattancherry and Fort Cochin where the various European influences are most apparent with merchant houses and old warehouses cramming the waterfront and narrow streets. Take in the Pardesi Synagogue in Jew Town, St Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and the highly decorated Santa Cruz Basilica. Allow time to admire the colourful murals, including depictions of the Ramayana, in the 16th century Dutch Palace. Linger in the colourful, pungent spice markets before moving on to the much-photographed Chinese nets that line the shore of Fort Cochin. In the evening, the epic Ramayana comes to life at a Kathakali performance, traditional Keralan dance, where the characters use larger than life gestures, wear outrageous costumes and dramatic make up.     COCHIN – DEWALOKAM 80 KMS / 2 HRS

    Leave Cochin and drive to Dewalokam Homestay, A fully sustainable organic farm set on the banks of the river Kannadipuzha, This delightful home stay offers a chance to explore the lovely surrounding countryside. Enjoy the beautiful spice garden and visit the dairy farm. Josh and his family are wonderful hosts. Freshly cooked vegetarian food, Ayurvedic treatments and swimming pool .The large traditional house has eight comfortable guest rooms. It is a soft landing in kerala. Dewalokam is an organic farm producing fish, meat, eggs, milk, fruits and vegetables. The produce is purely for in-house consumption and not intended for the market, meaning external demands do not have any influence on the farm and its products. Your hosts pride themselves on the quality of the Keralan cuisine provided, and if you wish you will have the chance to see how the chefs prepare your food, and speak with them about recipes and tips.     IN DEWALOKAM

    Rise early to watch three different types of Kingfisher darting across the stream on a sluggish number drive, diving in our clean water diving share place, fed from a well, or simply move in the sleeping sacks marked around the property. Return to homestay for Breakfast. The owners are enthusiastic about meals cooked with our own hands and traditional keralan cooking, and our professional cooking experts will adoringly prepare 3 meals everyday for you, included in the price of the stay. If you have particular meals requirements, then the cooking experts will be satisfied to provide them. OTHER POSSIBLITES ACTIVITIES (Complimentary) : Bamboo Rafting Punting on a Bamboo Raft, in the river is unique experience. You will be enveloped by deep forest on all sides. You may see a variety of birds like a fish owl, a fish eagle, three types of kingfishers, cormorants, etc. If you are lucky you may even see a wild lizard laying eggs by the side of the river. Thommankuthu water fall is a picnic spot of local interest. From Dewalokam one has travel twelve kilometers by car and then walk one kilometer along the river side though pristine forest to reach the Seven Step Cascade. There are several small falls, if one goes deeper into the forest. It is the nature walk among the huge trees that which attracts us more. Visit a local village school and interact with the staff and students. Sanjo CMI Public School where we offer this opportunity to our guest is village school, with high standards, though the students are children of the peasant community.
